Grammarly has 30 million daily active users in March 2024.

In 2015, the Grammarly App had only 1 million users. However, after the launch of the Grammarly Browser extension in the same year, the user base expanded by a whopping 5 million in 2016. 

Another significant jump occurred in 2018 when the user base was 15 million, which became around 20 million in one year.

Similarly, the user base grew by 10 million the following year, crossing the 30 million threshold for the first time in 2020.

Grammarly hit a $178.9 million revenue target in 2023. 

In 2022, Grammarly earned revenue worth $90 million. This displays that Grammarly experienced 98.77% year-on-year revenue growth in 2023.

This is a massive jump in revenue compared to a 1.44% revenue increase between 2021 and 2022. In 2021, Grammarly secured $88.72 million in revenue.

Grammarly Funding 

Grammarly has raised $400 million to date. 

The platform has acquired funds in over three rounds. Their latest funding of $200 million was raised on November 17, 2021, from a Private Equity Round.

On October 10, 2019, Grammarly secured $90 million in a venture round, and General Catalyst was the lead investor. 

This was the second time General Catalyst had invested in Grammarly. They did so on the May 8, 2017, Venture Round, when they invested $110 million.

Grammarly Investments

On Feb 11, 2020, Grammarly invested $10 million in a Seed Round in Docugami.

This is the only company Grammarly has invested in.

Docugami is a document engineering startup that converts piles of documents accumulated over the years into valuable data. It scans all the information in a document and generates usable data points based on that.

Grammarly Valuation 

According to TechCrunch, Grammarly’s post-money valuation was $13.2 billion as of November 17, 2021.

Grammarly reached this valuation after receiving $200 million in funding from new investors Baillie Gifford and BlackRock in the third Funding Round of 2021.

In a Grammarly survey study, 99% of students stated that Grammarly assisted in elevating the quality of their writing and writing grades.

The same study also indicated that over 84% of student respondents report that Grammarly has improved their grades in general.
